Lesson 5 - Circulars

I searched for an intelligent definition for Circulars and what it is giving me is something round. OK, here is a layman's term definition -- these are the stores newspaper AD or Sale inserts.  We find the circulars in our Sunday newspapers or by the entrance of the store.

Get them! Like a stockbroker, this is where you will find what is available. Here are the important ones:
RiteAid - this is my fave
Fred Meyers
Safeway
Albertsons
Walmart

The rest like Michaels, Joanns, Big 5, Big Lots, Big R (my husband loves this!), Sports Authority and others --- are good to have but is not your source for stockpiling.

Don't have any? It's online. Go to the store's website, put in your zip code and you will find your latest Ad Circular. Pull out one right now and we will dissect this. For this exercise I will use RITE AID, because it is the most complicated one. And if you can do Rite Aid, you can do any Circular my friend.

1. I know this is Circulars lesson, but make sure you are signed up with the stores REWARD CARD. You can do that with the cashier or online.

2. Date - check the sale period. It will say March 1-7. It is important to be current or the sale is out :(

3. There are extra bonuses - Like for Rite Aid, seniors save 20% on everything on special dates and you can find that announcement on the circular. So grab mom, dad, grandma or grandpa and shop. LOL.

4. Rite Aid has something extra but on the front page you will normally see some products blocked in a highlighted yellow box and will say something like 'Get $10+UP when you buy $30 of these Items'. Take a deep breath. What this means is, if you buy a combination of these goodies within the highlighted yellow box and reach $30 total, you get $10 reward as credit in your REWARD CARD. See, it pays to be a reward card member. This $10 can be used on your next shopping trip. Usually the following day.

TIP: What you want to do as a 'coupon diva' or divo (for men) is to find a deal within this box, have a manufacturers coupon, have a store coupon and have an UP Reward cash. - ALL AT THE SAME TIME. With this formula, you may get your stuff almost free.

Rite Aid does not give money back if you have more coupons than the value of your items. Walmart does! Ha! Another post for that.

Next step, coupon stockbroker - these products/items have deals going on in SAVING STAR which gives you cash back and from the APPs that you downloaded from your phone. Those are your bonus cash on top of the coupons and the deals and the sale. Sign up for SAVING STAR click here.

5. Store and Manufacturers Coupons - from the circular, you may find Store or Manufacturers Coupons. See lesson on Types of Coupons. Rite Aid tells you that there are coupons for some items. No coupons, click here.

6. Take note of LIMITS. You will see that per deal there is a limit as to how many items can you purchase and as to how many times you can avail of the UP REWARDS (RiteAid).  The UP REWARDS is per household.

7. Video Value (RiteAid Only) - Once you are a Rewards Member, head on to your account. You will see Video Value once you are logged in. Every month, Rite Aid features several products. Watch the short video. At the end of the video you will have the option to add a special coupon to your card or print it. This coupon, together with a manufacturers coupon, a store coupon and if it on sale is another 'coupon diva' saving move. You call this stocking coupons. You stock one coupon after another. Like double betting if you are in a casino. But this is better because you are always the winner.
