Lesson 2 - Organizing Your Coupons

Please read 'Coupon 101' and make sure you have followed the steps discussed in that post. Now you are ready for Lesson Two.

Materials:
COUPONS - of course!  Clipped from Inserts (booklets from Sunday newspapers) and Printed from your own computer using COUPON CENTER. CLICK HERE to get more coupons.

Your choice: Envelope, Folder, Coupon Organizer, 3-ring Binder

Other stuff: Pair of Scissors, Post-its

Figure out how you want to organize your coupons. I will have a few suggestions but as you get along with your coupon/shopping experience you will develop your own hybrid or what works for you.

A. Clip Coupons and put them in an envelope. How this will work is you have a shopping list and a specific store to shop.
B. Cut all your coupons and put them in an organizer wallet. You can purchase this from the Dollar Store or Staples or make one!  Make categories like.... meat, paper products, bath products, dog, baby, etc.
C. Use a 3-ring binder and purchase some trading card plastic sheets. You can sort your coupons in the plastic slots and you can see all of them as you flip the pages. You can sort them alphabetically or by category.

What do I do? I keep a shoebox where all my coupons are with dividers by category. I make my shopping list and pull out the coupons that I need. I stick to my list so I stay in my budget. I get into the store, hit the aisle of my products --- take it and go. A coupon shopping trip is planned.

Your shopping will be more pleasurable if your coupons are organized.
